OILMAN’S ARCHERY CLASSIC CONTEST RULES

  • Each team must have at least one operator on the team.
  • Archers with the traditional bow will shoot from a separate stake(20 yards Max). Their score will be calculated same as the compound bows. Compound bows will not exceed 35 yards unless stated at the safty meeting before the shoot. The compound bows must shoot before the traditional bows during the shoot.
  • Mike Adkins and his team,will conduct the totaling of scores.
  • All bows must be hunting equipment with sights that have no magnification or scopes. Moving or adjustable hunting sights will be allowed.
  • All arrows must have screw in field points.
  • If a bow has a stablizer, it cannot exceed 12″(measured from factory attachment).
  • Range finders are not allowed on this course.
  • Binoculars may be used, but they must not have a built in range finder.
  • Crossbows, broad heads, guns, firearms, pets and alcohlic beverages are not allowed at the range.
  • Any device that locks a bow at full or partial draw is not allowed at the range.
  • Children under the age of fourteen require adult supervision for this shoot.
  • A bow placed in front of atarget means the target is unsafe to shoot (someone is behind the target).
  • No sky drawing.
  • Hunting is NOT allowed at the range.
  • All shooters must sign a realase and indemnity agreement prior to the shoot.
  • No backtracking on range
  • Each team member must shoot before advancing from firing line.
  • If searching for a lost arrow, place your bow in front of target. Do not commence firing if you observe a bow in front of the target. Do not exceed two minutes. You can look once again after the shoot.
  • No golf carts or four-wheelers are allowed on the course during the shoot
  

Youth Division

    • The youth must be accompanied by his or her legal guardian.
    • The ages will be a minimum 8 years old and maximum of 14 years old.
    • There is no entry fee required for the Junior shooters.
    • If the age is 15years old or older, they will shoot as an adult.(Each team cannot exceed four adults).
    • Each youth will have a separate score card that will be carried and scored by the team captain.
    • There will be a seperate awards ceremony for the youth.
    • The youth will shoot from the same stake as the Long or Traditional Bows.(Maximum 20 yards)
    • We feel confident the youth will out score their parent or guardian.
